Alistair was awarded a CBE for services to the energy industry and net zero.
The citation which accompanied the award – issued by the Honours Committee – acknowledged that Alistair has demonstrated collaborative leadership – across the sector and over many years – on an industrial transformation that will benefit generations to come with clean, secure and affordable energy.
In response to the news, Alistair said:
“This came as a complete surprise and I’m hugely grateful to be honoured in this way, but it is really testament to the ongoing efforts of 14,000 people right across SSE.
“The work we are doing really is making a positive difference to the world and I think this honour acknowledges that.”
Alistair Phillips-Davies joined SSE in 1997 and became the chief executive of the company in July 2013.
