O4B 1200 550

SSE takes a responsible approach to procuring goods and services, and aims to treat the companies it does business with in an ethical and fail manner. SSE seeks to work in partnership with its suppliers to achieve long-term sustainable benefits. Through initiatives like our Open4Business portals in the Highlands and Islands, we aim to maximise the opportunities for local suppliers, supporting communities near our developments.

Modern Slavery WebMODERN SLAVERY

SSE has zero tolerance of modern slavery in all its different forms both in its business and its supply chain. SSE has produced a Modern Slavery Statement and taken initial steps to ensure that modern slavery is not present in its supply chain. SSE will undertake a risk assessment of the goods and services it procures and will seek to mitigate any risk identified through training its procurement and commercial managers and gathering greater information from high risk supply partners.

Living Wage in the supply chain

SSE is a Living Wage accredited employer and, since 2014, has been rolling out the Living Wage across its £2bn-a-year supply chain. We implement a ‘Living Wage Clause’ into every new service and works contract and require our contractors to do the same.

All employees who work regularly on SSE sites are guaranteed the Living Wage. You can read more about the impact of the Living Wage in SSE’s supply chain here.

  • within the terms agreed at the outset of the contract.
