Innovation and development
Energy innovation through research, development and demonstration is a key priority for SSE. Striving to be at the forefront of more sustainable energy systems, we recognise the value of innovation to provide secure, clean and efficient energy that is reliable, sustainable and competitive.
The UK energy industry faces many challenges and the key to our continued success will be our ability to adapt and meet these challenges.
In addressing these challenges we are leading a number of research and development programmes which include novel industrial scale demonstration projects. SSE believes that meeting these challenges requires working together across sectors and industries for shared learning, and we actively encourage engagement and collaboration with our industry partners, supply chain, government bodies, interest groups and leading European academics.
