Earn, learn and experience - SSE's 2017 apprenticeships are open

The chance to earn a wage whilst gaining recognised qualifications and experience in business isn’t a chance that crops up often. However, SSE’s Apprenticeship programme is open to candidates looking to earn whilst they learn until 19 March.

We’re looking for apprentices based all over Great Britain including candidates for Engineering Craft Apprenticeship, Trainee Engineers programme and IT Degree Apprenticeship.

Around 100 roles are available nationwide in our Engineer Craft Apprenticeship and the Trainee Engineers programme while the  IT Degree Apprenticeship will welcome 10 budding apprenticeships to the IT crowd at SSE’s offices in Hampshire.

John Stewart, Director of HR at SSE said: “Apprenticeship programmes are not just key to a company’s success, but key to the future success of our industry.

“By allowing people of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to develop, earn a fair wage and gain work experience apprenticeships are able to equip them with the right tools to enter the workplace and continue to grow from strength to strength.”

Emily Huntley, IT Apprentice, joined the programme last year: “I’m not sure if IT springs to mind when someone says apprenticeship, but I am very glad SSE has chosen to offer this position to candidates again this year.

“Apprenticeships are there to help train a new generation in a skilled trade, and, as the world becomes more digital and reliant on IT systems, it’s fantastic to be able to gain a recognised qualification in such a relevant subject whilst making money and working at a company like SSE.”

Applications close on 19 March so please visit sse.com/careers for more information and to apply.
