Socio Economic Case Study – Viking Wind Farm

Today the UK Government closes its consultation on treatment of non-mainland GB onshore wind projects.

Viking Wind Farm is a 50:50 joint venture between the community owned Viking Energy Shetland SSE.

It is expected to deliver a number of economic benefits on a local, regional and national scale; including connecting Shetland to the UK electricity grid for the first time.

In this short case study some of the project’s primary benefits are explored.
