Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks Focus on safety

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks held a second round of “Stand Down for Safety” events with contractors to reinforce its key safety message: "If it's not safe, we don't do it".

The events were specifically designed for a wide range of contracting partners and took place over two days in rural Hampshire.

Kevin Cracknell, Head of Network Upgrades, explains the importance of safety in the work that Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks and its contractors do. He said: "We had speakers from a range of our teams discussing the importance of safety in everything we do, and the impact it can have not only on our teams working on site, but also how it can affect our customers and the perception they have of our company. Throughout all of these talks, the key message was “If it’s not safe, we don’t do it.

“It was a great opportunity to embrace different working cultures and gives a good concept of safety and what we need to do in the future.”
