Brokers rank SSE Business Energy No.1

Over a year ago, SSE Business Energy embarked on an ambitious growth plan to build on a solid commercial foundation whilst adding real focus on customer needs.

It is not unusual for customers to appoint a representative to act on their behalf, and part of the growth plan included a refreshed approach to this very important sector, (often referred to as TPI or Third Party Intermediaries).

The approach included direct engagement with TPI’s both in groups at breakfast seminars, workshops and individual account plans to highlight bespoke requirements, with the single aim of building trust. SSE Business Energy had to demonstrate that we could deliver, were willing to engage, listen and build relationships whilst maintaining the highest professional standards at all times. It meant doing simple things, really well.

SSE Business Energy has since been ranked ‘number one supplier’ by Cornwall Energy (a leading independent energy analyst) in their latest survey of TPI’s.  They placed SSE Business Energy first with a score of 7.6 out of 10 (with 78% of TPI giving SSE a score of seven or above).

The key driver behind the outcome was the strength of relationships Business Energy has developed. “SSE is a good example of a company that does most things right. Generally speaking it has some of the most competitive prices and new contracts almost always go live on time. Reinforcing this, it has great customer service and TPIs have good relationships with their account managers.”

Some of the key strengths which differentiate SSE in the market include our people and our commercial offering:

  • A wide reach into the market in which it is well thought of by TPIs, of which 86% would be highly likely or likely to recommend the supplier for its products and service;
  • The top-rated supplier for meeting TPI needs at present, offering competitive prices and good service through competent account managers.
  • A fairly high awareness of its fixed price electricity and gas products and flexible electricity products. SSE’s fixed offers were well received and scored the highest proposition (81%) of A rating (good offer, well delivered).
